Countercultural Sounds: Musical Revolution 1968-1983

Date
Sat 21.09.19
Timings
3pm – 4:30pm

The late '60s and 1970s was the last great period of global revolt against capitalist rule. This worldwide rebellion fermented some of the most dynamic musical innovations in history.

Free jazz, Funk, Acid Rock, Reggae, Fusion, AfroBeat, Disco, punk, post-punk and early electronica - what were the underground relays linking swinging London, psychedelic San Francisco, revolutionary Havana, industrial Düsseldorf, insurgent Kingston, post-colonial Lagos and downtown New York?

Join us on this journey into musical history as we collectively listen to and discuss some of the era's key records, played on the TWT Soundsystem!
