Labour & the Unions

The Synergy Centre

1:30 pm - 2:45 pm

Labour Party

The Labour Party was born from the trade union movement and, though the relationship has been strained at times, the link still remains. This session will examine this relationship and discuss what unions can do at a national and local level to secure a radical Labour government, with focus on their role as cultural and social institutions. We’ll also identify the challenges and opportunities that may lie ahead for the unions when Labour are returned to power.

This session is part of The World Transformed’s ‘Pop-up Think Tank’ devoted to exploring the challenges and opportunities facing the trade union movement today.
