After the 2019 election defeat and the crumbling of the "red wall", many on the left have a renewed interest in community organising. But what does that mean in practice? In this session, we’ll hear from community organisers from around the UK, asking what are the different models of community organising and what are their aims? What do we mean by “community” and what are the pitfalls of external activists going into working class neighbourhoods to “organise” them? How can we really build power from the bottom up?
