There are many ways photography crosses into the realm of activism. It can document real lives, visually claim space and humanise and highlight untold stories. It can inspire, raise awareness and attend to less visible issues, and capture moments ignored by the mainstream. In these ways photography creates a visual narrative that makes stories accessible to a wider audience. This session explores my personal relationship to photography as activism, my commitment to capturing women's stories, and encourages others to speak up!
