The 75th anniversary of the arrival of HMT Empire Windrush, which brought over 800 Caribbean workers to England in 1958, has coincided with Britain passing its vicious Illegal Immigration Act. This session identifies how histories of colonialism, capitalism, and institutional racism have shaped border and deportation regimes, drawing on the past to highlight how we can resist them.
