Dele Sosimi has been at the heart of the global Afrobeat scene for decades, having started his musical career with Fela Kuti's Egypt 80 band in his teens. His music remains imbued with the sound of resistance, carrying forward Fela’s message against the “colonial mentality” into our own turbulent times. We are thrilled that Dele will be joining us this year, with his full afrobeat orchestra, and making his debut at the Niamos: the same stage that Fela himself performed in the early 1990s.
