How do we decide which tactics to apply and when? How do we maintain momentum now while building for the long-term? And how do we decide when to change course or to escalate?

This workshop will think through questions like this by looking at key examples of where movements have used a range of tactics to achieve a win.

Speakers

Carina is an organiser with the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM)

Masa is an organiser with Energy Embargo for Palestine, an anti-imperialist organisation building pressure for an energy embargo from below. Their primary target has been BP which they target through a variety of mediums including the sponsorship deal with the British Museum

Independent Workers of Great Britain Union

Amardeep Singh Dhillon is a queer Sikh writer and organiser. They are currently working on their first book, on finance capital, imperialism and the hospitality industry in London. Their organising has spanned trade unionism, mutual aid, Palestine solidarity and migrant solidarity work.

Angus O'Brien is the National Coordinator of the Climate Justice Coalition. Over the last decade, he has also been involved in developing campaigns of mass refusal – from bringing out 1,000 students on rent strike to Don't Pay UK mobilising an "existential threat" to the energy industry.
