At a time of great potential for the British Left, there is also varied debate about which tendency is best poised to take the fight to an insurgent Right and achieve breakthrough for twenty-first century socialism.

This panel brings together disparate voices from across the socialist movement to try to work out how we can forge an organised, unified political front that will succeed electorally, continue the historic legacy of the labour movement, and deepen the Left’s influence at grassroots level.

Speakers

Grace Blakeley is a staff writer at Tribune and author of Vulture Capitalism: Corporate Crimes, Backdoor Bailouts and the Death of Freedom.

Dan Evans is a sociologist and author. His latest book is A Nation of Shopkeepers: The Unstoppable arise of the Petty Bourgeoisie.

Max Shanly is a socialist and writer who was formerly a member of the Young Labour National Committee and a senior organiser in the second Jeremy Corbyn leadership campaign.

Brian Leishman is Labour MP for Alloa and Grangemouth and a member of the Socialist Campaign Group.
