As tenants, one of the most powerful tools we have in our perpetual conflict with landlordism is the rent strike. We can control their profits and by withholding rent tenants have the capacity to cause direct and material harm, strengthening tenants position at the negotiating table, although, it has it's risks. In this panel we bring together tenant organisers from multiple international tenant unions to discuss their direct experience with the tactic of rent strikes, including the benefits, drawbacks and necessary conditions, to explore it's utility in the struggle to achieve housing justice for all.

This session will run straight into the screening of the CATU film The Rent Strike.
