Manchester Radical Tradition is proud to present Working Class Folk; a gig by, of, and for working class folk!
We are honoured to bring together a selection of artists from across the North of England to present their offerings of traditional and contemporary folk music; from 18th Century Lancastrian Ballads to Folktronica, from a capella protest songs to jigs and reels performed by more instrumentalists than can fit on a stage! So join us for a wonderful afternoon in the Radical Tradition.
Ballad singers and tune players from Liverpool, they combine a capella harmony with traditional English tunes with an Anarchist twist!
An ensemble band, Brown Wimpenny play a mix of hop-stepping tunes, a capella ballads, and rousing chorus tunes; often in rapid succession.
A Ballad Singer from Middleton, Jennifer sings Lancastrian dialect songs from the Industrial revolution up unto today.
A folktronica outfit from Manchester, Chermansog combine a mixture of ballads with electronica to produce a unique sound.
A duo based out of Sheffield, these singer song-writers use a plethora of instruments to talk about feminism, land justice, and fixing chainsaws.
