Erdogan has secured another term as president, cementing his centralised control on Turkey and his regional and global aspirations. We’ll delve into Turkey's geopolitical significance, examining Erdogan's political objectives and their consequences for the region. We’ll also explore the political and social impacts of the Kurdish Freedom Movement's resistance in Turkey, as well as other grassroots social movements.

Nuran Imir is the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MP for Şırnak

Iida Käyhkö is a doctoral researcher in security studies at Royal Holloway, University of London, where she researchers experiences of criminalization among the UK’s Kurdish community. She is particularly interested in examining unconventional warfare as a key strategy of state repression.

Cengiz Çandar (born 1948) is a Turkish journalist, senior columnist, and a Middle East expert. Cengiz is MP for Diyarbakir since May 2023.

Lloyd Russell-Moyle MP is the Labour MP for Kemptown & Peacehaven.

Simon Dubbins is Unite the Union's director of international & research. He is the co-chair of the Freedom for Ocalan UK Trade Union campaign.
