Ever more areas of life are becoming gamified; from management techniques to social media, to conspiracy fantasies like QAnon. In response we’re seeing the emergence of both video and table-top games featuring left-wing themes and mechanics. In this panel we ask if games are the native form of cultural expression in late neoliberalism and whether left-wing games can play a role in escaping our conditions.

Speakers

Kellynn is a games designer and researcher, studying how co-created narrative games can help people.

Stephen is a professor at Warwick University, focusing on cultural studies and Marxism.
