Eighty years ago, the Fifth Pan African Congress was held in Manchester. This historic gathering saw delegates - including Nkrumah, Padmore, Amy Garvey, Kenyatta and W.E.B. de Bois - gather to address the question of decolonisation in Africa and the Caribbean, setting the agenda for the colonial liberation movements for the next twenty years.
To mark this, we are hosting a special session to discuss the enduring relevance of PAC5, and the present-day works of those on the African continent and diaspora engaged in real freedom fighting and trying to practically implement its agenda, declarations and resolutions in order to complete its still unfinished business of radical decolonisation.
