From a series of devastating verdicts on the basis of “joint enterprise”, conspiracy convictions and the gangs matrix, to the legalised sexual abuse of minors through strip searches: the prevalence of stop-and-search, racist exclusions policies, and police violence against children has hit the headlines again and again this year. Making explicit the links between the courts, the schools and the streets as sites of police violence against minors, this session will explore what resistance to that violence looks like.
